Deer Sister by Neverfly Deer Sister by Neverfly
the deerhunter shot his own sister
in the evening, when the shadows were long
his dogs were at her heels

and as she fell, the ribbons in her hair were as red as her own blood

as he wept
how was he to know
that she was cursed to live as a human by day
and that after so many years
he had finally set her free?

Oh, how beautiful. I love how your pieces with the most moving and sad scenes still seem so serene. I love how her wound is so small on her body - it makes it seem insignificant to her, like it's an accessory.

Gorgeous. :) I'm in love with all the little subtleties like the ribbon in her hair and the little swirlies blowing the leaves around.

Wonderful, as usual.

At first I read 'Dear Sister' but I guess that would work too, huh?
